Discover your Child's Preschool Personality - and Choose a Preschool that Fits!

In San Francisco, the entire preschool process can feel as stressful as college admissions. It’s complicated and overwhelming. Though some schools are rated highly (and have tuitions to match) are they the right fit for your child? What does your preschooler need? What does your family need?

Join Blair Wellington, child and family therapist at Kidspace, to discuss the many types of preschools that exist, from Montessori to Waldorf – as well as what preschool might fit your active, shy, gifted and/or just all-over-the-place child. We’ll also go over children’s learning styles, personality types, what to expect from preschool, as well as how to supplement any preschool program to make it work for your family.

cost: $18 members, $28 non-members.  coming with your partner?  add $10 for 2nd person

Getting Together & Getting it Done: Do you have a Will or Estate Plan yet?"

Many of us panic about the things that can go wrong, especially after kids arrive on the scene.  Many of us have had these to-do's on our list for too long: get a valid Will in place, talk to an attorney about getting things in order in case something happens.  Maybe you don't have the time, or maybe the cost is just too much right now.

Attorney Amy Shelf has teamed up with the folks at Recess to bring new and expectant parents a way to get the basics out of the way and organize your future—all at a thrifty, group-discount rate.

Here is how it works:  you & your partner spend a morning at Recess and attend a Panic-Free Planning workshop (childcare available in the recess playspace).  You'll leave with a valid Will, Financial Power of Attorney and an Advance Health Care Directive, all completed with the help and guidance of an experienced estate planning attorney.

More information at www.recessurbanrecreation.com or www.amyshelf.com.

cost: $215/individuals, $330/couple

sign up: email signups@recessurbanrecreation.com, or phone 415.701.7529.

event type: parent workshop; limited childcare available
