You are the parent, but I could be your greatest resource.
Dear Parents:
As a professional childcare provider, I have 18 years of experience working with children of all ages and abilities. My versatility and adaptability have allowed me the opportunity to mesh my education, experience, and talents to suit each family’s children and individual needs. My experience focuses on children 0 – 2 years of age – their abilities are blossoming at an exponential rate and I find that the most benefit can be bestowed upon them through parental input and my techniques, which are based on Montessori and Magda Gerber. My personal drive to better the coming generations has also extended my knowledge through work with multiples, special needs children, and teens. Over the years, I have accumulated a book of pictures and recommendation letters from families, former teachers, the US military, and the FBI that I enjoy sharing and expanding with each family.
I earned my first bachelors degree, in infant and toddler care, in 1994 and my second, in psychology, in 2001. I am available for childcare 24/7 in my family childcare home. I am looking to build my clientele with families who need a bit of assistance in meeting the demands of childrearing while still maintaining the active role of the primary care giver. Ultimately, you are the parent, but I could be your greatest resource.
I am a family childcare home located in Ingleside Terraces. Although open 24/7 to accommodate all schedules, I am an infant-only facility from 7:00A to 6:00P Monday through Friday. Toddlers and children of school age are welcome before and after hours and on weekends. I have full-time, part-time, hourly, and weekend services available. Remember, the holiday season is upon us – reserve your slots early to shop, go to the spa, or, most importantly, to get some time for you.
I am sure you will enjoy taking full advantage of my accumulated knowledge and experience, along with my flexibility and resourcefulness. Therefore I would like to be able to speak with you so that we may better understand your needs and determine if we might make a good team. In the meantime, please feel free to contact me for additional information and/or to arrange for a site visit.
I look forward to hearing from you.
Sincerely,
Monique.

Toddler Hair cuts
Hi,
I have a 17-18 month-old toddler who is in need of her first haircut. I am looking for a great place that can cut her hair fast and well. I was told that KidsCuts and Snippety Crickets give fast, but mediocre cuts. I'd love for her to get a nice cut. Any great recommendations?
Thanks in advance!
Bonding without Toys: Ten Interactive Activities for your Toddler and You

Thinga-reader Priscilla asks:
"Would you write about your favorite activities you have with your daughter? I have a 17-month-old and am on toy overload thanks to the holidays. I'd like to introduce some activities to him that are focused on our relationship rather than toys."
Wow, that's a great idea. Let's begin with toy philosophy. There are many skills and bits of knowledge we want toddlers to learn, but the number one principle for the earliest years is human interaction. There are limitless qualities and abilities to be learned: sharing, empathy for people and animals, social conduct, language, vocabulary, sense of humor, sense of self and so on.
Time out for Toddlers?
My daughter turned 2 in June and as she gets older, there seem to be more reasons to put her in timeout. Problem is, so far I don't feel like it has been all that effective. When she is very upset about timeout (which is pretty much every time) she won't sit in a chair, or in any type of designated place... so I end up putting her in her crib. I was wondering if any of you have found timeouts to be particularly successful for your 2 year old, and if so, how you go about it.
